Third-party testing
Raw materials are tested for identity, purity and potency at external ISO-certified laboratories and screened for heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological contamination. A supplier’s own certificate is treated as a claim to verify rather than a result to accept. Certificates are published per lot rather than for the product as a whole, so the one below covers the lot number printed on it and no other — for a different lot, ask us and we will request it.
How we check third-party testingShipping and Returns
Orders over € 169 ship free within the EU. Below that, shipping is € 14,95 anywhere in the EU (€ 9,95 within Sweden), added at checkout. Unopened items can be returned within 30 days of arrival.
Product Details
The red carotenoid, straight from microalgae
Astaxanthin is the carotenoid that gives shrimp, lobster and salmon their red-pink colour. Here it is extracted directly from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis – the source those animals get it from in the first place.
About astaxanthin
Astaxanthin belongs to the carotenoid family – fat-soluble pigments produced by plants and algae. The microalga Haematococcus pluvialis produces it in abundance, and wild salmon owe their colour to eating organisms that feed on such algae.
