Product Details
Sixteen-ingredient powder from Designs for Health
GI Revive® is a comprehensive powder formula with 16 botanical and nutritional ingredients – including DGL liquorice, aloe vera, slippery elm, L-glutamine and zinc carnosine – designed to support the intestinal lining. Natural peach flavour.
About the formula
GI Revive® is a powder with 16 ingredients: amino acids, herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals. The composition is deliberately broad rather than deep – slippery elm, marshmallow and okra are mucilaginous plants, L-glutamine and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine are the two largest components by weight, and zinc carnosine supplies the mineral. One 8 g scoop covers all sixteen.

The formula combines herbal extracts of slippery elm, marshmallow and okra with the amino acid L-glutamine. DGL (deglycyrrhizinated liquorice) is a form of liquorice with the glycyrrhizin removed. Zinc carnosine is a compound of zinc and the dipeptide L-carnosine.
In functional medicine, GI Revive® is often used as part of a “5R” protocol together with digestive enzymes, probiotics and prebiotics. The 5R steps – remove, replace, reinoculate, repair, rebalance – describe the order in which the pieces are usually introduced.

Who is GI Revive® for?
GI Revive® suits adults who want a broad powder supplement with amino acids, herbal extracts and zinc carnosine in a single product rather than several separate jars. It is used in functional medicine as part of a wider digestive protocol. The product is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians because of the mucin.
What is L-glutamine and why is it included?
L-glutamine is an amino acid and the main fuel for enterocytes, the cells that line the intestine. GI Revive® contains 1.5 g per serving, which is at the lower end of the amounts used in research – single-ingredient glutamine powders are usually dosed at 5 g and upwards. The product is not a replacement for medical treatment.
When during the day should I take GI Revive®?
GI Revive® is best taken between meals – for example in the morning on an empty stomach or between breakfast and lunch. Many prefer to mix it into lukewarm water for a lighter taste.
How long does one jar last?
One jar contains 224 g of powder, which equals 28 servings of 8 g. At one serving a day it lasts 4 weeks.
Why DGL liquorice rather than ordinary liquorice?
DGL stands for deglycyrrhizinated liquorice – liquorice extract from which the glycyrrhizin has been removed. Glycyrrhizin is the compound that gives liquorice its characteristic taste, and removing it is what distinguishes DGL from ordinary liquorice extract.
Where and how is GI Revive® made?
GI Revive® is made in the USA by Designs for Health in a facility following cGMP standards (current Good Manufacturing Practices) regulated by the FDA. The raw materials undergo third-party testing for identity, potency and the absence of heavy metals.
Can I combine it with probiotics or enzymes?
Yes, GI Revive® is often combined with probiotics and digestive enzymes within a complete digestive protocol. The enzymes help the body break food down, probiotics support the balance of the microbiota, and GI Revive® supports the lining itself.

GI Revive® is Designs for Health’s broadest powder in the digestive range: 16 ingredients in one 8 g scoop, where most competing products cover three or four. That breadth is the trade-off – each individual ingredient sits at a lower dose than it would in a single-ingredient product.
