About adaptogens
Adaptogens are a group of plants long used in traditional herbal medicine and studied in modern research. The term was coined in the 1940s by the Russian researcher Nikolai Lazarev. Adrenotone™ combines four adaptogens – ashwagandha, rhodiola, eleuthero and American ginseng – with liquorice root and B vitamins in the same capsule, instead of the four separate jars the same combination would otherwise take. The extracts are standardised, so the amount of active compound is the same from batch to batch.
The four herbal extracts in Adrenotone™ – ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea), eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) and American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) – all belong to the adaptogen group and each has a long history in traditional herbal medicine. N-acetyl-L-tyrosine is a precursor to the neurotransmitters dopamine and noradrenaline, and the B vitamins act as cofactors in the same synthesis pathways.
