Most hot meat snacks get their strength from pepper seeds and cheap spice blends. Lineage deseeds both the jalapeño and the chipotle before grinding them. The seeds are where both the lectins and the sharp, stomach-irritating heat sit.

The result is a heat that builds slowly and settles at a comfortable level instead of biting. It works with the meat’s natural sweetness rather than taking over.
The spices are organic, non-irradiated and steam-sterilised. Irradiation is standard in the food industry but breaks down both flavour compounds and antioxidants, so Lineage uses steam instead.
Underneath the seasoning sits the same ancestral recipe as in the other versions: grass-fed beef with liver and heart blended in. The liver contributes vitamin A, B12 and iron, the heart CoQ10.

Why does the casing sometimes come away?
The casing is made from natural collagen and behaves differently from synthetic casings. That it releases a little is normal and affects neither the taste nor the shelf life.
Where does the meat come from?
From regenerative farms in Australia, New Zealand and the USA, where the animals graze year-round.
Do they need refrigerating?
No. The sticks are air-dried and keep at room temperature. Store them in a dry, cool place.
What is the omega-6:3 ratio and why does it matter?
It is the ratio between omega-6 and omega-3 in the fatty acid composition. Industrially raised meat often sits at 10:1 or worse. Lineage sits at 1.6:1 thanks to the animals grazing their whole lives, verified through nutritional analysis by Edacious.
How long does a 3-pack last?
Three bags of 113 grams, that is 340 grams in total. For most people that lasts a couple of weeks as a snack.
How hot is it?
Medium hot. The heat builds slowly and never turns sharp, because the peppers are deseeded. Most people who enjoy a little heat handle it without trouble.
Why are the peppers deseeded?
The seeds contain lectins and are responsible for the sharp heat that easily irritates the stomach. Without seeds the flavour is rounder and easier to eat.
